  • there are 6 Amesha Spentas, divine beings, and believers participate in divine nature by assimiliating their qualities:

    1. Holy Devotion (Dedication and Piety)

    2. Good Mind

    3. Highest Truth

    4. Desirable Dominion

    5. Wholeness (perfection)

    6. Immortality

  • By living a morally good life and doing good deeds, we can help bring about the salvation of the world, "Frashokereti", where everyone will be immortal and be in eternal bliss. Those in hell will be purified, then they will join everyone else in heaven.

BELIEFS ABOUT GOD

  • There is only one God, Ahura Mazda (Wise Lord)
  • Man can become close to Ahura Mazda by being truthful and righteous
  • Ahura Mazda created a pair of twin spirits as his sons, Spenta Mainyu and Angra Mainyu
    • Spenta chose truth, light, life
    • Angra chose deceit, darkness, death
    • Eventually Ahura Mazda took over Spenta’s role opposite of Angra
  • Human history reflects the struggle between Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu, eternal opposites
    • The struggle between light and dark, good and evil, truth and deceit
